Locally grown canola seed is the main ingredient for production at Canbra Foods. We manufacture canola oil products for a number of private label brands, as well as for Canbra’s own brands, including Canola Harvest.  Our products are sold in bulk to manufacturers, and in packaged form to retailers and the food service industry across North America and around the globe.

Canola meal, the remainder of the canola seed after oil extraction, is also sold for livestock feed. With an amino acid content that approaches that of milk protein, canola meal has proven to be both a healthy and cost effective way to increase protein levels in feed. In 1997, Canbra introduced the Alberta Gold ^TM Hi-Bypass brand of protein pellets, which we market to dairies in various parts of the world.

Canbra Foods also has a joint venture with Control Chemical Corporation of Calgary, called Greenland Corporation, which manufactures and sells a full-line of environmentally safe vegetable oil based lubricants. The Greenplus lubricants are replacing conventional lubricants from Marine operations on the pacific to hydroelectric dams in Alberta and to the forestry industry in the east.  Greenplus lubricants are non-toxic to the environment, rapidly biodegradable, operator friendly and made from renewable resources.

Canbra foods is a fully integrated oilseed processing operation, manufacturing and packaging finished canola products, starting from raw canola seed.  All of our products are made with exacting quality control standards and our facility allows us to convert the basic ingredient, raw canola seed, to a finished oil or margarine product within thirty-six hours.  Canbra foods continues to remain at the forefront with Research and Development of new canola product formulations for both consumer and industrial applications.
